Bree, don't get cocky. Let Victor accept a compliment, seriously, he already gets enough shit from people for no reason. It's as if you guys don't want the contestants to have the drive to win anymore. Because as far as I can notice, Victor and Wendy are the only ones who are doing this truly because they want to and are in it to win it. If I was Victor, I would be surprised too, to get a compliment in a sea of being talked down to.

Stemming off Karasu's statement in judging thread, but I think Victor is the only one left that signed up on their own and not as a favor. I mean Karasu asked Laura. Manny asked Jack. Nigel asked Wendy. Not saying that Laura, Jack, or Wendy don't deserve to win or anything, but I just thought it'd be a fun thing to point out. Not trying to question the motives of the contestants or anything btw. I'm sure once ya guys joined the competition ya may have had the desire to win. I mean, ya guys made it this far in the first place haha.

he said he said it because it was a fun thing to point out, which i agree that it kinda seems unusual and somewhat funny that most of the people left were asked to join this game by previous contestants. i'm not trying to further insult your intelligence(heaven forbid), but did you even READ his entire post or stop halfway through and assume he was trying to be an ass so you could call him out on it?

Yes, I read it. And I totally agree that it's a major irony/coincidence/whatever term is appropriate here. I just think it's kind of silly of Mikiel to point it out and then backpedal like he's afraid everyone's going to get mad at him. I think it's clear, Mikiel, that if it intrigues you enough to point it out, then you DO think it says something about the contestants motivation. Maybe you don't, and maybe it just seems like you do because I think it says something ab out their motivation... to an extent.
I think they all care about it adequately, because if they didn't they wouldn't put in the effort they have been and they would have dropped off by now. I DO think it's also telling that the judges (besides Leigh) often critique Victor as having a sense of desperation in his pictures. Is there such thing as wanting it too much? Yeah, I do think so, or at least, wanting it for all the wrong reasons.
Perhaps the others have consistently pulled off higher-rated pictures because they're NOT stressing about this contest, they simply find it something funny to do.
So Mikiel, I don't mean to accuse you of being a pussy or anything, I just thought it was funny how you go to make this big revolutionary statement and then backpedal. I wouldn't apologize for that. It DOES say something about the motivation, TOTALLY.

i think he just meant to clear that he's not trying to be rude or say anyone deserves this because of how they entered, not backpedal. not everyone is trying to be rude, ya know. =p

No, I was aware that he wasn't trying to be rude, it just came off as very passive. There's nothing wrong with admitting what he thought and I was merely (and clearly) saying that he didn't need to be so apologetic for his thoughts.
It makes for an interesting discussion.
